Dredging Begins In Mission Bay Channel
(kpbs.org) SAN DIEGO — Work will begin this week to begin dredging the Mission Bay Channel to make it safer for recreational and commercial boaters accessing the Pacific Ocean, it was announced today. Flexible fallpipe vessel Stornes launched
(Van Oord) On 20 August 2010, flexible fallpipe vessel Stornes was launched at the CIMC Raffles yard in Yantai, China. A naming ceremony will be held at a later date. VOSTA LMG has recently signed a contract for a repeat order with ASL Shipyard Pte Ltd. The contract is signed for the delivery of an engineering and components package for a self propelled cutter suction dredge, which ASL will construct in its Singapore shipyard and deliver to DEME in 2011. Image A huge ship will spray hundreds of tons of shingle on to a beach to protect homes against flooding. In what should make a spectacular sight, a dredging vessel will pump more than 890,000 cubic feet of shingle on to the beach at Eastoke, Hayling Island.
