Business New Americas reports that Brazil’s transport infrastructure department (DNIT) will spend an estimated 520mn reais (US$296mn) to dredge Para state’s Tocantins river, a DNIT spokesperson told. SEP launches US$35.7mn dredging tender for Itajaí port

Brazil’s Special Secretariat for Ports (SEP) called for bids to increase Itajai channel draft to 14m. If the process goes smoothly work should begin in August at an estimated cost of R$64m ($35.6m). A separate bidding process will cover strengthening of the northern breakwater.
