Finance ministry to release payment to clear DCI dues
(Indian Express) Two days after the Dredging Corporation of India threatened to withdraw their dredgers from Haldia due to non-payment of dues, the Finance Ministry has agreed to release the payment to the Shipping Ministry. Shell given more time for gas pipeline plans

(Examiner) Plans for the Shell gas pipeline off the coast of County Mayo have been put on hold as the company comes up with an alternative safety plan. An Bord Pleanála announced Shell was given an additional three months until May 31st to submit plans that would ensure there were no safety risks to the local residents. Boskalis signs Fall Pipe vessel contract with Keppel

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. has signed a contract with Singapore based Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd for the construction and completion of a new fall pipe vessel. The vessel with an overall length of 159 meters is expected to be completed late 2011 and will be deployed in oil and gas offshore projects.

JDN: Beach Restoration Works in Mexico

(Jan De Nul) Cancún, 9 June 2009 - Méxicana de Dragados S.A. de C.V., a member of Jan De Nul Group, is awarded the contract for the beach restoration of Cancún, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. The total contract value amounts to 45 million Euros. The job consists of the dredging and reclamation of more than 6 million cu.m. from a sand deposit located about 25 miles from the tourist beach in Cancún. Sand will have to be pumped on the beaches of Cancún, Playa del Carmen and on the island of Cozumel.

Additionally, two underwater breakwaters will be constructed to protect the beaches from erosion. Jan De Nul Group is proud to be part of this prestigious project to boost the tourism industry in Mexico after it took a severe hit as a result of the recent swine flu.
